The LS9 is the most powerful production engine ever offered by GM. This 6.2 liter engine has a factory intercooled supercharger that allows it to produce 640+ hp out of the box for the 2009 ZO6 corvette.
The LS9 features a list of exotic parts including titanium connecting rods, forged pistons, titanium intake valves and dry sump oiling. It uses stronger block and cylinder head castings to sustain the increased power level.
