This 5.3 liter small block V-8 packs a punch without knocking out your wallet.

The LS327 displaces 5.3 liters and has been used for a decade in GM trucks and SUVs. It shares architecture with the Gen-3 LS engines but uses a cast iron block instead of the aluminum block used in cars. The 5.3 shares the same 3.62 stroke as the LS1,2,3,6,and 9 but a smaller 3.78 bore and lower 10.5:1 compression.
